Welcome

[edit]

Hello Hectorthebat and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.

Here are some tips to help you get started:

Good luck!

[edit]

Hi Hector,

Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links)#Free links. It isn't helpful to link every word. For example, this edit didn't improve the article in question at all. In another example, you linked MMORPG Runescape when the correct link, RuneScape, was indicated one line above.

In short: read the Manual of Style, try to make sure your links are relevant, and try to link to the right article.

dbenbenn | talk 04:30, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Hi. I'd like to ask you to be more careful and vigilent when wikilinking. I noticed you've been working through Wikipedia:Deadend pages, and several of your edits aren't fixing the articles. You often create links to individual words of a phrase (e.g., University of California, when it should be University of California), or you create links of the same word throughout an article (e.g., Europe in this edit). The idea of Wikipedia:Deadend pages is not just to make links, but also to cleanup the article, since many not-so-good articles appear on the list. See this discussion. Like the above comment in February suggested, please read and follow the Manual of Style on links. If you have any questions, please ask me. —Markaci 2005-04-25 T 14:42 Z

Hector, I see that you continue to overlink articles, such as [1], in which you link to the letter A two times, and several other terms that really don't need to be linked to. Those additions don't add any value, and actually make the article harder to read. Please only link to terms that are actually relevant to the article. Also, when adding unknown dates to year articles, please follow the guidelines used on other year pages. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 14:18, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)
Hector you continue to overlink articles: [2]. The links to the initials A.V.C.C. are completely unnecessary and unhelpful. Let me stress that these edits are not helpful to other editors, and actually create misleading context. I know that you are just trying to go through Deadend pages, but you will be much better served by only linking to encyclopedic topics. Why don't you try categorizing these deadend pages and marking them as stubs when appropriate? --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 17:32, May 3, 2005 (UTC)
Hector. Your recent edit [3] shows the same pattern of behavior. I can't tell if you honestly think that you're improving these articles, but I assure you that many of these edits are more disruptive than helpful. Please respond to me on my talk page, and explain your methodology, or I will open an RFC against you. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 19:48, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

Hector, your edits to "Gordon E.J. Hoke" and A.R. Bernard Sr. appear unnecessary. I believe you are still over-linking these articles with Rev. being linked to in the A.R. Bernard Sr. article are over the top and are not improving the article. Several other pages which you have edited are plagued with red-edits. Would it be possible to preview your edits and write short summaries to edits on all your pages. TheTallOne 23:07, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hector, your edits to the articles between 20th and 23rd February 2006 are unnecessary and I do not believe that you are taking in the comments met on this page. You still repetitively repeat linking the same words over again and links to surnames of the people in which the article is about is irrelevant. Art is linked to numberous time in the article Art Rupe which links to the subject of Art, rather than the person, Art Rupe. Theoretically, they should not be linked to at all as they should if they are to be linked, lead to the very article you are editing. TheTallOne 21:41, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hector, Please desist from this behavior immediately. You have been warned about this in the past. If you have questions about the appropriate level of linking, ask a more experienced admin. Your recent edits are not constructive. --DDG 21:57, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2880 edit

[edit]

Your edit to 2880 is not logical. First, an article there would have to be about the year 2880, not the number; the proper title for an article about the number is 2880 (number). Second, your statement that it is the smallest number with 36 factors is not true, 1260 is. Third, your edit was simply no more than a simple substub. Georgia guy 23:56, 1 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it wasn't Hectorthebat who replaced the redirect with a false statement. Look at the history. DanielCristofani 11:02, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove redlinks from the Catholic encyclopedia missing articles project without comments as to why you are removing them. I have notified admins and will be watching for other changes. I have also noticed that some of your contribution have been identified as copyright violations from the Oxford Dictionary of Saints. Please only use public domain sources such as the Catholic Encyclopedia which is freely available. Reflex Reaction 13:54, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing. If you do use the Catholic Encyclopedia as it looks like you are starting to do, please put Catholic at the bottom of the page. This will let other people know that the text is from a public domain source and not a copyright violation. But you should also know that direct text dumps are not the best way to add information to wikipedia. Please edit and modernize the articles, thing have changed alot since 1908. The instructions at the Nuttall Encyclopedia project are also excellent if you are looking for guidance. If you do not have time to edit the article, please put October 2005 at the top of the page so that other people know to clean up your work, though it is best if you can clean up after yourself. Thanks and keep contributing. Reflex Reaction 14:42, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hector thank you for wikifying and adding October 2005 to the articles you create from the Catholic Encyclopdia; it will make cleaning up the entries easier, but it is always best if you can clean up after yourself. Can you please be more selective about what information you put into wikipedia from the CE? Not all of the entries in the CE should be in wikipedia because they cover such specialty information and often have very POV info. Most of the articles are not up to date, either syntatically or the information they have. The CE's strengths for entry into wikipedia are often historical persons such as Saints or other Catholic persons who have made contributions outside the religious sphere such as Richard Bulstrode who is in both the 1911 version of the Encyclopedia Britannica [4] and in the Catholic Encyclopedia [5]. You may want to start at this crossover list for places to compile information from when creating articles. If you use information from the 1911 encyclopedia use the template --Reflex Reaction 21:08, 13 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contintued work incorporating information from the Catholic Encyclopedia into Wikipedia. But I would again remind you to please DO NOT put dump text from the site into the pages. The Catholic encyclopedia was written at a different time and with different motivations than that of wikipedia. The material is simply not appropriate as it is from the site. You can use both the if you are going to use both sources for writing the article, which I had hoped that you had done. Can you also be more selective about words that need to be wikified, not everything is directly relevant to an article.

If you are interested in another project where material can be taken directly from a website, wikified, and be a much more complete article please contact me. Thanks, --Reflex Reaction 15:28, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Arne Løchen

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Arne Løchen, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add hangon on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. cholmes75 (chit chat) 16:51, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hectorthebat,

I noticed you recently created the article about Georg von Kopp. I just wanted to let you know that you can announce any new Germany-related articles at Portal:Germany/New article announcements and Portal:Germany/New articles. That way other users interested in the topic can see them and might improve them.

A "prod" template has been added to the article Kjersti Bronken Senderud, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 172.162.59.230 00:46, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

unhelpful Linking

[edit]

Hi, Some of your recent links are unhelpful of just plain wrong. Can I suggest that you check them first. For example, in Glastonbury Canal you link to Richard Pratt which is a disambig page; in Daylight magazine, Joel Engle and Mr. and Mrs. Bridge you link to Richard Ros - he was born in 1429 so he is hardly likely to be a photographer, nor is he likely to go on tour, nor play jazz. You run the risk of being regarded as a vandal; I hope that that is very far from your intentions.Pyrotec —Preceding comment was added at 21:54, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub tags at end, please

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Yasunori Miyoshi, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.museunacional.ufrj.br/mndi/Aracnologia/pdfliteratura/papers%20miyoshi.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Yasunori Miyoshi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Yasunori Miyoshi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Notability of Ryker's

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ryker's, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ryker's seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Swedish village articles

[edit]

Hi Hectorthebat, A lot of the articles that you have created (and the ones that you will create) would benefit greatly from the addition of Infobox Settlement as I did with Strömsfors. [edit]

Hello Hectorthebat, very nice that you add interwiki links to your articles, such as those for Swedish villages. However, don't forget to add iw-links in the other direction as well, such as en:Ornäs in the Swedish article. This should always be the case with "symmetric" articles (on the same subject, having the same coverage) in two language versions. As I understand it, interwiki-links in both directions make it possible for the interwiki bots to add correct links to other language versions; if a link only exists in one direction the bot-assisted update usually doesn't work. Regards, Tomas e (talk) 09:59, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just realised that you probably created these articles from the nowiki versions, rather than the svwiki versions. Since you added iw-links in both directions between enwiki and nowiki, the updates should work, so you can ignore my previous comment. It just hadn't struck me that someone would create articles on Swedish villages from Norwegian rather than Swedish source text... Tomas e (talk) 10:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia

[edit]

Hi Hector. Glad to see you developing iNdonesia but can you please not categorise articles in "Towns in INdonesia". PLease see Category:Cities, towns and villages in Indonesia and decide which of the sub cats the articles should go in. PLease empty the towns category, they should go in Category:Cities, towns and villages in Banten thanks Dr. Blofeld White cat 22:30, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Blofield is too kind - when creating stubs without a WP:RS in sight - please - the least you could do is to put a tag on the talk page - thanks if and when you do! - WP Indonesia class=stub importance=low - otherwise it is in effect an orphan in the cat department. Indonesia project does not need more articles that are WP:RS free - it is a scourge - and any help by either utilising a web or paper based source is better than the hundreds of place names with nothing to support the stub - cheers and thanks SatuSuro 09:22, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Arnulf Paulsen

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Arnulf Paulsen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Unreferenced WP:BIO, unimproved since 9/07 tagging, not independently notable of Vazelina bilopphøggers.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

AfD nomination of Truck-driving country

[edit]

I have nominated Truck-driving country, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Truck-driving country. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Fit TV, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. --AbsolutDan (talk) 15:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Oddbjørn Lie

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Oddbjørn Lie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Plays on the second tier in Norway. Not a fully professional league. Fails WP:ATHLETE. No other significant coverage that fulfills WP:BIO#basic criteria.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Come Closer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A tag has been placed on Justin Savornin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

A tag has been placed on Patrice Godin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Hello Hectorthebat! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 61 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. Notability referencing issues

[edit]

It is important that you provide valid references in relation to any article that you create in the future, and in the case of BLP (biographies) created in the past, that you go now back and provide those references. Unfortunately in the case of biographies where you have not established notability it is likely the case that I will delete the articles unless you respond quite quickly with references. Please remember that references must be appropriate, that is not via the use of blogs or other invalid links. I also note that you have been asked for your cooperation in this regard before and you seem to be ignoring such calls. I am not sure why you are but I need to caution you not to create any new article in the future that does not meeting notability guidelines.--VirtualSteve need admin support? 03:11, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article layout, MOS, etc

[edit]

Greetings. I've noticed that you've been having trouble with the layout and usage of various templates/infoboxes with the articles you've been creating (such as: Riksvei 171, Riksvei 174, Riksvei 181, Sand, Akershus). While other editors and I have been cleaning some of these issues up, it would be better if you could take care of these issues up as you create the articles. It would be helpful if you reviewed Wikipedia's guidelines regarding layout, manual of style, and Infobox MOS. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me or leave a message at the help desk. Regards, PDCook (talk) 05:05, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2 Faces. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:03, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yasunori Miyoshi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Yasunori Miyoshinews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. User's pie-chart of edits

[edit]

It's been suggested that this user may have resumed their activities & MO on different account(s).

It may be interesting to compare their pie-chart of edits with Hectorthebat's pie-chart of edits.

Notice how seldom Hectorthebat used talk pages - and never their own - and never supplied Edit Summaries.

A tag has been placed on Flerohopp, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hang on to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unblock request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Hectorthebat (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hi everyone. I have been blocked for the best part of a year, and I feel that this block is no longer necessary. While I understand that I have created a large number of unreferenced biographical articles, and have not contributed to the dialogue which has been attempted, I feel that this block has served its purpose. As you can see from a list of articles which I have created, a very large number of these have been useful translations of important articles from the .fr and .no wikipedias, and I feel that I can continue to do this without translating unreferenced articles. Therefore, I understand what I have been blocked for, I will not continue to cause damage, and I will make useful contributions to Wikipedia, with edit summaries, and reply to messages sent to me.

Decline reason:

I have examined a random sample of the 1418 articles you have created. (That includes both deleted articles and articles still in existence.) I have also looked through the history of your talk page. In the course of these investigations I discovered a number of problems. There were some cases of copyright infringement of which you were informed, and I have also found further, apparently hitherto undetected, copyright infringement, with whole articles being verbatim copies of pages from other web sites. You have received messages about various types of unconstructive editing, such as creating disambiguation pages where no article exists for any of the entries. Even among the undeleted articles there are many on subjects which seem to come nowhere near satisfying Wikipedia's inclusion standards, and few if any are on very significant subjects. Thus, although creating unreferenced articles (many, but not all, biographical) is the problem which has most often been pointed out, there are other problems, which you have not acknowledged in your unblock request. Adding this to the fact that you persistently completely ignored warnings about the problems, even after receiving two short blocks, I am not convinced that unblocking you would on balance be an advantage to Wikpedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:19, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Unfortunately the blocking administrator has not edited in the last few days. I will wait a couple more days, and if there is still no response I will make a decision myself. Sorry to keep you waiting, but after "the best part of a year" perhaps you can tolerate a couple more days. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:15, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Can I challenge your declining? While I accept that a number of articles were lifted from the Catholic Encyclopaedia, this has now been dealt with, and I did not do this for a number of years before I was blocked. Subsequent 'hits' of copyright infringement were only picked up when I translated an article from French or Norwegian Wikipedias, and they were copyright infringements which I unknowingly translated. Is there in fact anything that I can do to get myself unblocked, or is this permanent with no chance of reprieve? Hectorthebat (talk) 14:29, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What a smooth move!

[edit]

Do not create, add, or restore hoaxes to Wikipedia., such as you did with the article .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia – and then to correct them if possible. Please do not disrupt Wikipedia. Feel free to take a look at the five pillars of Wikipedia to learn more about this project and how you can contribute constructively. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:24, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    • This was not a hoax, as a simple Google search would have confirmed, or putting in articles for deletion would have shown. As I am blocked from editing Wikipedia, I cannot reinstate it, but I would be grateful if you could do so. Hectorthebat (talk) 09:22, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I would like to request an unblock again. I still feel that I have a lot to offer the site, and a look at some of my contributions will show that I have created a lot of important articles, as well as helping to improve others. There is a meetup coming to my town that I would like to attend, and I would like to do so as an unblocked editor. Many of my unreferenced or non-notable creations were translations which were included in the Norwegian or French wikis. I therefore assumed that they would be acceptable here. I will not make that mistake again, and will ensure that I spend more time and attention on any further edits.Hectorthebat (talk) 12:43, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I'm all for second chances, but you have already had yours and you apparently learned nothing from it. This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
  2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
     • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
     • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
     • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
  3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
  4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
  5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), place at the end of the prose you copied this template reflist-talk and then save.
  • Now, edit that content to propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:37, 11 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ACWL requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
